Over the last couple of years, I’ve become interested in re-working paintings and manipulating past images for new work. Making a painting basically equates to working through an idea in order to solve an art puzzle. I’ve always been guilty of blasting through an idea in order to get to the next idea which is ridiculous because there is no finish line, just infinite puzzles.

Rushing to call a painting "finished” doesn’t allow for the idea to be explored completely so I’m trying to spend more time with the work. Right now that looks like experimenting with prints of past paintings. The prints can be made in any size, mounted to a variety of substrates, and can be sanded, painted over, redrawn….the possibilities are endless.
